The development of automated tractors is anticipated to address the problem a declining and aging agricultural labor force. However, there are numerous situations in which automatic driving difficult field. We developed remote operation system allowing novice tractor drivers control remotely where evaluated its performance on real Our challenge was design user interface (UI) that allows novices comprehend tractor's status return situation possible. system's UI inspired by popular video games. In experiments, even with little or no experience automobiles playing games could till according goal line. addition, participants dealt an invisible obstacle viewing illustrations sensor data. designed UI's methods operator attributes were analyzed. Through experiment, following facts revealed. A method analog stick adhere mechanical guide results smooth operation. participant's preferred depends his/her gaming experience. Thus, this study clarifies some specifications guidelines necessary for novice-friendly tractor.
